Introducing The Neurodiversity Show: Evolution = More Inclusion
The UK’s Premier Exhibition Dedicated to Neurodiversity 21st-22nd March 2025, NEC, Birmingham
We are excited to announce a significant evolution in our event series – the transformation of the Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Shows into The Neurodiversity Show. This change marks our commitment to creating a more inclusive and comprehensive platform that supports the full spectrum of neurodivergent experiences. The Neurodiversity Show will take place on 21st-22nd March 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham, promising to be the UK’s premier exhibition dedicated to neurodiversity.
Why This Evolution Matters
Since its inception in 2019, the Dyslexia Show has been a cornerstone event for education, parents, professionals, and workplaces, focusing on innovations and support for individuals with dyslexia. Over the years, the need for a broader focus has become evident, reflecting the interconnectedness of various neurodivergences such as ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, mental health challenges, and more. The Neurodiversity Show responds to this need by providing a unified platform for addressing a wider range of neurodivergent differences.
Arran Smith, Event Director, shares, “Since 2019, when I created the Dyslexia Show, we have seen a number of changes in the industry. Renaming the show to The Neurodiversity Show opens so many more doors and ultimately helps us support more people across the neurodiversity space.”
What to Expect
The Neurodiversity Show will offer an expanded array of resources, workshops, and presentations tailored to a diverse audience. By bringing together experts, educators, parents, and professionals, the event aims to foster greater awareness, understanding, and support for neurodivergent individuals. Attendees can expect:
- Innovative Solutions: Showcasing of the latest tools and technologies designed to support neurodivergent individuals in various settings.
- Educational Workshops: Sessions aimed at educators, parents, and professionals to provide insights and strategies for supporting neurodivergent individuals.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded individuals, organisations, and experts in the field of neurodiversity.
- Commercial Opportunities: Businesses and organisations can explore exhibition and sponsorship opportunities to showcase their products and services to a targeted audience.
Evidence Supporting the Change
Our decision to transition to The Neurodiversity Show is grounded in substantial evidence and statistics. Approximately 15% of the UK population is neurodivergent, encompassing experiences such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, dyspraxia and mental health challenges. Recent studies indicate a significant overlap in characteristics associated with different neurodevelopmental profiles, highlighting the importance of a unified approach to support and awareness (University of Birmingham, CIPD).
Furthermore, the rise in diagnoses, particularly a 787% increase in mental health diagnoses over the past two decades, underscores the urgent need for enhanced understanding and support (City & Guilds Foundation, CIPD). By expanding our focus, The Neurodiversity Show aims to leverage the successes of the previous shows whilst nurturing a more inclusive society that values and supports neurodiverse differences across various domains, especially in educational and workplace settings.
