Date: 9th-10th May 2025
Location: NEC Birmingham, UK
With less than 9 weeks to go, the Neurodiversity Show is set to be the UK’s premier exhibition dedicated to neurodiversity. Currently, we have over 50 exhibitors attending, with an estimated 60 speakers across the two days. We’re creating the centralised national event that can support areas such as education, parents, the workplace, and neurodiverse individuals.
As we approach Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we must celebrate the strength and understanding that neurodiversity brings to society. Neurodivergent individuals offer unique perspectives that benefit every community and sector. Celebrating neurodiversity is essential because it recognises and honours the unique strengths and contributions of neurodivergent individuals, fostering a society that values diversity, creativity, and inclusivity.
- In Education: Neurodivergent individuals often approach problem-solving and learning in innovative ways. By harnessing these unique ways of thinking, we can create more dynamic, inclusive learning environments.
- As Parents: We celebrate the achievements of our children who face mental health challenges and other differences. Through understanding and support, they can thrive and achieve their full potential.
- In the Workplace: Neurodiversity is a powerful asset in the workforce. By leveraging the unique talents of neurodivergent individuals, businesses can foster better career opportunities, drive innovation, and achieve better outcomes. Empowering our own individuality, understanding our knowledge, and recognising our strengths can truly enhance workplace inclusion, productivity, and corporate responsibility.
- Empowering Individuals: Empowering neurodivergent individuals is key to unlocking their full potential. With the right understanding and support, they can thrive in every aspect of life, from education to the workplace.
Back to Our Roots: The Journey of the Dyslexia Show
Back in 2019, our founder Aaron Smith created the Dyslexia Show, aiming to change the world’s understanding of dyslexia. Over the years, we have seen amazing press around dyslexia and special educational needs (SEN), raising awareness and visibility. However, we’ve also seen some criticism of the term “dyslexia” as being solely about reading. But as we know, it’s much more than that. It’s a distinct way of processing information that affects more than just reading—it’s a whole spectrum of cognitive abilities and challenges.
This progression has led to the evolution of the Dyslexia Show into the Neurodiversity Show, which now includes conditions like ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, and mental health. We are proud to take this broader, more inclusive approach. The Neurodiversity Show, taking place on 9th-10th May 2025, is our vision of creating an event that not only celebrates neurodiversity but works to create more inclusion, more understanding, and more opportunities for neurodivergent individuals across all areas of life.
Our Core Values:
- Empowerment: Equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools to confidently navigate their neurodiversity.
- Standards: Raising the bar for inclusivity and support across educational, professional, and social contexts.
- Inclusion: Valuing everyone’s differences, empowering them, and enabling them to be themselves and achieve their potential.
- Community: Building a supportive network that fosters understanding and collaboration among all stakeholders.
- Understanding: Enhancing awareness of the multifaceted nature of neurodiversity and its implications for individuals and society.
- Pioneering Change: Leading the way in innovative solutions and approaches to support and celebrate neurodiversity.
